Customer Success/Consultant (Industrial Energy & Decarbonization Focus)
Sales & Business Development, Customer Service · Full-time
Bangkok, Thailand
About the Role
As a Customer Success(CS)/Consultant for an energy management product, you will be the strategic partner for our industrial and manufacturing clients, helping them translate complex energy and production data into measurable business value. You will guide factory managers, facility engineers, and sustainability leads through the adoption of the energy management platform, ensuring every engagement delivers clear financial ROI, operational efficiency, and decarbonization outcomes.
This role requires a unique blend of industrial expertise, data analytics, and consultative account management. You won’t just track emissions; you will help clients identify energy waste in production lines, optimize utility usage, and navigate the complex intersection of manufacturing performance and carbon accounting. You will work cross-functionally with Managed Services and Product teams to deliver results that scale across complex facility portfolios.
Core Responsibilities
1. Industrial Customer Lifecycle Management
- Own the relationship with key industrial stakeholders (Plant Managers, Energy Managers, EHS Directors) from onboarding through renewal.
- Develop success plans centered on hard metrics: specific energy intensity reductions, cost savings per unit produced, retrofit ROI, and compliance with industrial standards.
- Lead technical business reviews that go beyond high-level reporting to discuss site-specific performance, load profiles, and operational improvements identified through our platform.
2. Energy Optimization & Data-Driven Consulting
- Analyze industrial energy data to identify anomalies and reduction opportunities in key utilities (HVAC, Compressed Air, Steam/Boilers, Chillers) and production processes.
- Partner with Managed Services to deliver deep-dive analytics:
- Retrofit & CapEx Planning: Forecasting savings for equipment upgrades (e.g., VFD installation, waste heat recovery).
- Demand Management: Analyzing load curves to optimize production scheduling and reduce peak demand charges.
- Performance Benchmarking: Comparing energy intensity across similar production lines or factory sites.
- Synthesize technical outputs into executive-ready recommendations that justify CapEx investments or operational changes.
- Ensure clients effectively use the energy management platform to track real-time impact and verify savings after implementation (M&V).
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Managed Services: Collaborate on technical scopes (e.g., solar feasibility, electrification studies) and validate the engineering logic behind analytic outputs.
- Product: Act as the "voice of the factory," advocating for features that support industrial data integration (e.g., sub-metering, SCADA/BMS connectivity) and operational reporting.
- Sales & RevOps: Identify upsell opportunities for additional industrial sites or advanced technical advisory services.
4. Process & System Leadership
- Contribute to Industrial Success Playbooks that standardize how we onboard complex manufacturing sites and track energy savings.
- Maintain visibility into customer health by monitoring data quality from meters, sensors, and production logs.
Key Metrics
- Energy & Cost Savings Identified/Realized: The tangible financial impact delivered to the client’s factory operations.
- Gross and Net Retention Rate (GRR / NRR): Focus on retaining high-value industrial accounts.
- Platform Adoption: Usage depth by facility teams and corporate sustainability teams.
- ROI and Compliance Milestone Attainment: Meeting specific reduction targets (e.g., 5% reduction in kWh/unit).
Required Experience:
- 2–7 years of experience in Industrial Energy Management, Energy Consulting, Plant Engineering, or Technical Customer Success.
- Proven track record of analyzing energy data to drive operational improvements or cost reductions in a factory, data center, or complex facility environment.
- Strong ability to translate technical engineering data into financial business cases for executive decision-makers.
- Proficiency with BI/Analytics tools (Sigma, Power BI, Tableau) and comfortable handling large datasets (interval data, production logs).
Preferred Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of industrial utility systems: Compressed Air, HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, Process Heat, and Motors/VFDs.
- Familiarity with Measurement & Verification (IPMVP) protocols and calculating ROI for energy projects.
- Knowledge of industrial data systems (BMS, SCADA, EMS, MES) and how they integrate with cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with ISO 50001 (Energy Management) or specific industrial decarbonization frameworks.
- Experience with carbon accounting (Scope 1-3) specifically within a manufacturing context is a strong plus.
Attributes:
- Self-starter: You are comfortable wearing a hard hat on a site walk one day and presenting to a CFO the next.
- Data Detective: You love digging into load profiles to find the "ghost" energy usage that shouldn't be there.
- Passion for Decarbonization: You are driven to prove that sustainability and industrial profitability go hand-in-hand.
