About the role:

The Asset Manager is responsible for the successful exit of each loan within our portfolio. Understanding risk, project management, construction, finance, and loan structures are critical to the success of the asset manager. Reporting on the portfolio and each loan is a critical part of the job and as such the asset manager must have deep knowledge of each loan and action steps to help underperforming loans achieve success or at a minimum a successful exit.

Successful candidates for the role bring 5+ years of construction lending, construction, or development experience. The candidate must be adept at working effectively in a fast-paced and fun work environment, demonstrate a strong work ethic, personal accountability, attention to detail, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and well-developed business acumen. The candidate is also outgoing and open-minded, with an innate curiosity about people, construction, and lending.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Portfolio performance
  • Consistent communication with borrowers about deadlines, extensions, and job progress
  • Communicate financial responsibilities of the borrower
  • Conduct asset condition assessments
  • Proactive solution finding for underperforming loans
  • Reporting on performance as required by capital partners
  • Borrower relationships
  • Problem solving to help borrower achieve a successful exit
  • Manage extensions, loan statements, and loan sale letters
  • Work with borrowers through delinquency, default, and foreclosure
  • Financial reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Prepare asset budgets and forecasts
  • Track asset-related costs and revenues
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis for solutions to problem assets
  • Work closely with Chief Risk Officer to identify risk and solutions
  • Identify and assess asset-related risks
  • Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies
  • Generate regular reports on asset performance and utilization
  • Analyze asset data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Provide recommendations for asset improvement
  • Ensure compliance with capital and regulatory partners and governing bodies
  • Maintain asset documentation and records

Must-haves:

  • Relevant construction lending industry experience, 3+ years
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience using asset management software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting
  • Experience with construction estimating and cost control
  • Multi-tasking, able to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously
  • Strong process management, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated success in asset management (can provide samples of work)
  • Team player willing to jump into any project, no matter how big or small
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with other teams and C-level stakeholders
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter

Location & Compensation:

Lindon, Utah

  • M-F: 9-5 in office (F/T)
