As we scale our lending operation, we’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Underwriter who understands construction risk, knows how to dig deep into project and borrower profiles, and wants to help us build the future of construction finance.

• Evaluate and underwrite construction loan applications, ensuring alignment with internal credit policies and risk tolerances
• Analyze borrower financials, project budgets, schedules, and third-party reports (appraisals, plans, permits, etc.)
• Assess general contractor qualifications, project readiness, and construction feasibility
• Recommend loan structures and terms to optimize risk-reward profile
• Collaborate with sales, credit, and operations teams to guide loans from application through closing
• Maintain clear documentation and audit trails in the underwriting file
• Help shape and iterate on underwriting guidelines and scoring models as we grow

• 3–7 years of experience in underwriting or credit analysis, with a focus on construction or real estate lending
• Strong understanding of construction risk factors: contractor quality, scope management, draw schedules, contingency planning, etc.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and project budgets
• Tech-savvy with a passion for streamlining workflows—bonus if you’ve worked in a startup or SaaS-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal oversight

• Experience with multifamily, SFR (single-family rental), or commercial development projects
• Familiarity with modern lending platforms or construction loan management tools
• Exposure to credit risk modeling or early-stage product development
