Role Overview
We are seeking a Director, Human Resources to lead all HR functions for DNK’s growing operations in Japan. Reporting to the regional leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that attract, retain, and develop top talent, while fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture aligned with DNK’s mission and values. This leadership role will partner closely with business leaders to drive organizational growth, build scalable HR processes, and ensure compliance with local labor laws and best practices. This role will report to the CEO of DNK Japan.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies tailored to DNK’s growth plans and culture.
- Lead talent acquisition efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding top local talent.
- Design and manage performance management, employee development, and retention programs.
- Oversee employee relations, ensuring a positive work environment and resolving workplace issues.
- Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and regulations, keeping policies updated accordingly.
- Drive initiatives to build an inclusive, diverse, and engaging workplace culture.
- Partner with global HR teams to align local HR practices with DNK’s broader company values and standards.
- Manage compensation and benefits strategy within local market benchmarks.
- Lead change management initiatives supporting business growth and transformation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in SaaS, tech, or real estate industries.
- Deep knowledge of Japanese labor laws, employment practices, and HR compliance.
- Proven experience leading talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.
- Fluency in Japanese and business-level English (written and spoken).
- Based in or willing to relocate to Tokyo.
Nice to Have
- Experience in PropTech or real estate technology sectors.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and HR analytics.
- Background in multicultural and cross-border team management.
