Position: Senior Database Engineer – Seoul, South Korea

At DNK, we’re transforming how real estate is managed across APAC. Our AI-driven, end-to-end platform empowers property owners, managers, and investors to eliminate inefficiencies, unify operations, and unlock new value across their portfolios.

This isn’t just another PropTech platform. DNK replaces fragmented systems and limited tech adoption with a single, unified solution that blends global best practices with deep local expertise, helping teams operate smarter at scale.

At the core of our platform is Investment Manager, an intuitive system designed to analyze and manage large-scale real estate portfolios. Supporting both residential and commercial assets, it consolidates data into a single source of truth: enabling transparent performance tracking, smarter decision-making, enhanced reporting, and improved operational efficiency.

Founded in 2020, DNK today manages over US$4.5 billion in assets across APAC, with offices in Tokyo and Seoul. As we continue to scale, the systems we build, and the people who build them, play a critical role in shaping the future of real estate management across the region.

What You’ll Do

  • Own DNK’s database systems: design schemas, optimize queries, and tune performance for high-traffic production environments.
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data flows reliably across multiple environments.
  • Implement and manage replication, backups, and recovery strategies to safeguard critical business data.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to enable analytics, reporting, and integrations that drive business impact.
  • Monitor, validate, and maintain data accuracy and consistency, leveraging tools like CloudWatch, DataDog, and automated pipelines.
  • Drive infrastructure automation and CI/CD workflows for database deployment and schema governance.
  • Influence architecture and best practices, balancing short-term delivery with long-term scalability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience with high-traffic, production-grade database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud database solutions (AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL) and infrastructure automation
  • Skilled in database schema design, query optimization, performance tuning, and monitoring
  • Comfortable with ETL pipelines, data validation, and observability tools
  • Strong SQL skills, version control experience, and understanding of database security principles
  • Business-level English required (Korean and Japanese a plus!)
  • Bonus: experience in PropTech, SaaS, or large-scale data platforms; scripting skills in Python or Bash; AWS Database Specialty certification

Tech Stack You’ll Use

  • Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ETL/ELT pipelines, schema governance, query tuning
  • CI/CD & Automation: GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, automated schema validation and deployment
  • Monitoring & Observability: Amazon CloudWatch, DataDog, query profiling, slow query analysis
  • Collaboration & Tracking: Jira, Confluence, data change management, cross-team release coordination
