H2 Corporation is an AI-native company modernizing one of the largest and most underserved industries in the world: construction. Founded in Tokyo in 2020 and now expanding globally, H2 is building the next-generation AI-powered system of record for quoting and orders for the $13T global construction industry. Our AIS Platform automates takeoff, estimation and quoting, and orders workflows for the largest construction enterprises, helping the industry address a generational labor shortage with AI-driven productivity. We are backed by top-tier investors including NEA, JAFCO, Spiral Capital, and MetaProp. We are currently a team of approximately 130 members across the United States, Japan, and Vietnam, and are scaling rapidly across all three regions. THE OPPORTUNITY H2 is looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Frontend Engineer to design and build the interactive, high-performance interfaces where construction professionals and H2’s AI work together. Construction drawings are some of the densest visual documents in any industry. A single commercial plan set can contain thousands of shapes, measurements, and annotations that users need to pan, zoom, select, edit, and verify alongside AI-generated takeoffs. The canvas is where AI output becomes something an estimator can trust, correct, and act on, making performance and usability at real-world scale central to H2’s product. You will own senior-level technical work across frontend architecture, interactive canvas and rendering performance, and AI-enabled user workflows. You will work directly with customers and with product, design, backend, and AI engineers to understand how estimators work, rapidly prototype solutions, validate them with users, and turn successful approaches into reusable product capabilities. This is a hands-on engineering role. We need someone who can reason deeply about frontend architecture and rendering, translate ambiguous customer workflows into intuitive product experiences, prototype quickly, and ship and own production features end-to-end. Our frontend stack includes TypeScript, React and Vite, with an interactive canvas at the core of the product. • Own the design and delivery of performant, reliable frontend experiences for H2’s construction products. • Build and optimize interactive canvas experiences where users review and edit AI-generated takeoffs, maintaining responsive performance across complex drawings with thousands of objects. • Profile and resolve rendering bottlenecks and make appropriate architectural decisions across modern browser rendering technologies. • Work directly with enterprise customers to understand estimator workflows, diagnose friction, and translate their needs into product solutions. • Rapidly prototype and validate solutions with users, then generalize successful approaches into reusable components and platform capabilities. • Design resilient frontend architecture and integrations with H2’s backend APIs and data systems. • Partner with AI/ML engineers to bring model outputs into the product in ways users can understand, verify, and correct. • Partner with backend, product, and design to deliver features end-to-end, from user experience through API integration, deployment, and monitoring. • Own production frontend quality through testing, observability, performance monitoring, and resolution of production issues. • Review code and technical designs and help establish strong frontend engineering practices across the team.
