As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a lean and dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and help build a company that’s revolutionizing the construction world.

This position is based full time near Midtown New York City, with 3 days in the office per week.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in building SaaS (Software as a Service) products, and a preference for candidates with experience in the construction and building industry. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Next.js for full stack development and have extensive experience working with both MySQL and MongoDB for backend data storage. This individual will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance software solutions.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead the development of scalable and efficient user-centric components.
  • Architect and implement backend processes and integrations.
  • Optimize database queries and ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Contribute to the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the construction industry to understand unique challenges and requirements.

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proclivity for monitoring product performance and implementing measurements for everything you deliver to production
  • Experience with Typescript and Next.js, React or similar frameworks and libraries
  • Experience with RPC and REST best practices
  • Experience with MYSQL, MongoDB or similar relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with microservice or serverless architecture
  • Accountability and initiative for working collaboratively in a hybrid office environment.
  • 4+ years of experience building web applications

What success looks like:

At 1 Week:

  • Understand what our products do, how we work, and what our core values are

At 1 Month:

  • Understand who our customers are and what their pain points are
  • Spoken to customers first hand to gain an understanding of the unique industry we are building for.
  • Delivered a major update or feature to production based on customer feedback

At 3 Months and beyond:

  • Able to identify and address potential areas of improvement in existing products, processes, systems
  • Fluent with product business metrics and actively associating planned deliverables with “moving the needle”
  • Familiar with and contributing to product roadmap and KPI discussion

What we offer:

  • The annual salary range for this position based in our New York City office is $160,000.00 to $180,000.00.
