The Director of Engineering Services provides strategic and people-centered leadership for engineering tools, processes, architecture, and integration standards that enable reliable, scalable, and innovative managed services delivery. This role supports the Global Operations Center and partners across the organization to deliver technology solutions that improve customer outcomes, strengthen operational excellence, and create long-term business value in the utilities and energy ecosystem. This leader balances strategy with execution, fostering collaboration across engineering, product, and operations teams while building inclusive, high-performing teams that adapt to evolving customer and market needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead and evolve engineering processes, tools, and architecture standards that enable customer‑centric, secure, and scalable managed services across global operations.
Drive solution design and systems integration that support reliable service delivery while remaining agile to changing customer, regulatory, and market requirements.
Collaborate closely with Product Management, R&D, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to ensure technical solutions align with customer needs, business priorities, and utility industry standards.
Partner with customers and industry stakeholders to understand requirements, share expertise authentically, and identify innovative service opportunities that deliver measurable value.
Build, lead, and develop diverse, high‑performing engineering teams through inclusive workforce planning, hiring, coaching, and continuous development.
Establish and communicate strategic roadmaps, define success metrics, and promote accountability through transparent tracking of outcomes and continuous improvement.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and operational plans responsibly, balancing financial stewardship with investments in innovation and service quality.
Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and learning that supports safe, reliable, and future‑ready technology solutions for utilities and energy customers.
Required Skills & Experience:
Demonstrated experience leading engineering organizations or teams in complex technology environments, with accountability for architecture, solution design, and systems integration.
Strong expertise in designing and integrating large‑scale, enterprise technology solutions that support managed services or operational platforms.
Experience establishing or improving engineering tools, processes, and standards that enable consistency, quality, and agility.
Proven ability to lead and collaborate with distributed, cross‑functional teams in a global or multi‑market context.
Customer‑centric mindset with the ability to translate business and operational needs into practical, scalable technical solutions.
Effective communicator who can influence decisions, lead change authentically, and build trust across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience within utilities, energy, IoT, or other regulated, asset‑intensive, or mission‑critical technology environments.
Background in managed services, global operations, or service‑oriented technology delivery models.
Advanced degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline.
Experience setting long‑term technology or service roadmaps aligned with customer outcomes and business strategy.
Demonstrated success driving innovation while maintaining operational reliability and compliance in complex environments.
Travel: ~25% domestic & international travel expected.
Physical Demands: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.
The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $278,000 for Liberty Lake, WA. This position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus program.
